Hotels and Camping at the Thundersprint

We have faced a few challenges with accommodation at this year's Thundersprint because one of our long time supporters has ceased trading and is no longer able to offer rooms. However, the good news is that we have formed a partnership with "Premier Inn", who have two hotels on the outskirts of Northwich, and plenty more in the area, all of which offer excellent accommodation at very affordable prices.

All the hotels are within a maximum 20 minutes' drive from theThundersprint track so you will not be stuck out miles away regardless of which hotel you choose.

Our favourite is the "Premier Inn" at Sandiway which has been recently refurbished. It's a really nice hotel and the staff are big Thundersprint fans!

The hotel doesn't serve food but the "Blue Cap" pub next door certainly does - and very nice it is too!

The Premier Inn at Sandiway sits alongside the very pleasant "Blue Cap" pub.

The "Blue Cap" is a midge's eyelash over 5 miles, along a dual carriageway, from the centre of the Thundersprint - an easy 10 minutes' drive in a van.

Here are the room rates, at the time of publication in January, for the Sandiway hotel and the other "Premier Inns" in the area.

It is important to remember that the rates are per room - not for each person. To be clear, two people sharing a room at the Sandiway "Premier Inn" will pay £34 each if the rooms are booked now, in January.

Children under 16 stay free of charge so a family can have a real bargain deal for the weekend.

The Premier Inn at Sandiway is a rather swish establishment!

All the Premier Inns are of a high standard and, very importantly for us, offer a total customer satisfaction guarantee. If you stay at any of the Premier Inns in the area, and you think that you have received poor service, Premier Inns will refund your money. And you can't say fairer than that.

Camping:

The camping is proving to be particularly "challenging" at present. This is the situation. We are confident that we will have a Thundersprint campsite identified within two weeks from the end of January. The organisation involved very much want to host the camping but at present they are going through the much loved Health and Safety evaluation.

If, for whatever reason, this does not happen we will publish a list of all the commercial campsites in the Northwich area and those of you wishing to camp can book into these - all of which are of an excellent standard.

We apologise for the delay but this has been through circumstances beyond our control.
