Thundersprint Camping |
|
The Thundersprint camping will take place at
Witton Albion Football Club which is about a mile from the
Thundersprint track and Northwich Town Centre. It is a comfortable half
hour walk from the town centre and from all the activities at the
Memorial Hall. The camping has proved to be very popular at Witton
Albion FC and the football club is always looking at ways to improve the
service even more. Witton Albion Football Club has a proud history of welcoming visitors Camping will open on Friday 11 May from 12 midday to 9pm. The site will re-open at 9am on Saturday morning. The site will remain open until 9pm each evening. It will finally close at 10am on Monday 14 May. This is so that you can make a full weekend of the Thundersprint. Click here CAMPING BOOKING FORM to download the camping and meals booking form. As well as cooked breakfasts served on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings, there will be refreshments - both solid and liquid! - on sale throughout the day. If you would like an evening meal, these are available at very reasonable prices and for 2012 the already excellent menu has been extended. Breakfast, and evening meals, will be served in the social club which is heated and comfortable.
There are excellent facilities at the club. with male and female showers. During the night, there are toilet facilities within the grounds. These are immediately adjacent to the campsite and will be open throughout the night when the main clubhouse is closed. There will be two camping areas. These will be for general camping and a separate area for those of you who want to be in a quiet area. We have retained the location, and management, of the Quiet Area from 2011. The Quiet Area will be on the football pitch. It will have its own access gate where potential entrants will be reminded that it IS a designated quiet area and there IS a curfew in place. There will also be a separate access from the clubhouse to the Quiet Area. In short, this will guarantee campers the peaceful night(s) that you have a right to expect. Because the Quiet Area is on the playing pitch, it will only take tents. Bikes will be parked on the shale right next to the pitch. Specifically, you will be able to park your bike literally next to your tent. Cars, vans and motorhomes/caravans will be parked directly outside the Quiet Area, on crushed gravel, immediately outside the pitch. If you have a particular need, for example if you are with your family and have a lot of camping equipment to move or you have some physical challenges, the club will allocate a parking pitch for you as near to the entry gate as possible. In practice, you will have only a very short distance to move your camping equipment from your car/van to your actual pitch. This area will also provide the shortest possible access route to the toilets and washing facilities. The Quiet Area will also be the designated “Pet Area” and there is a pet exercising path around the edge of the football pitch. Your dog/cat must be kept on a lead at all times. You might love dogs - we do - but others don't want a passionate kiss from an eight stone, adolescent Doberman - even a very friendly one. Clearly, you must clean up after your animal and keep the whole area hygienic. ALL PETS MUST BE ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES. THIS PARTICULARLY APPLIES TO DOGS. Having a pet friendly area has taken a lot of organisation and goodwill on the part of Witton Albion FC so please make the system work. If you do not keep your pet in the designated area, or if you allow it to be a nuisance in any way, the Club may well instruct you to leave the site. Please do not let this happen. The Quiet Area will have an 8pm curfew on all music, ball games and every other activity likely to cause a disturbance. It's aimed primarily at families with little ones who need to be in bed, settled and relaxed but it is also a good place for racers and cavalcaders who need an early bed for the following morning's dawn start. Please respect this area. There is a total and absolute ban on fires, barbecues and fireworks everywhere on site. Camping Prices: The price for camping is £20.00 per tent, vehicle, motorhome or whatever, for Saturday evening only and £30.00 for the whole weekend. The weekend pass will provide up to three nights' stay: Friday 11 May, Saturday 12 May and Sunday 13 May. The one night stay is for Saturday 12 May only. A two night stay will be the same price as a weekend pass. If ten people sleep in one tent it will still be £20.00 for one night. For a family of four sleeping in one caravan, the total cost will be £20.00 for Saturday only or £30.00 to stay the whole weekend. The cost for a caravan or motorhome is still £30.00 for the weekend, or £20.00 for Saturday evening - even if it is a big one! The charges listed are for a tent, giant motorhome or for sleeping on the ground in a bin liner next to your bike. The charge is per unit, not per person. The charges refer only to domestic camping units, not commercial tents designed to house many occupants - for example club tents - which must be pre-booked by prior arrangement.
