James Toseland at the Thundersprint |
|
The Thundersprint is going to be a great weekend for James Toseland fans with a fantastic range of opportunities to meet JT on both the 9th. and 10th. May. Thundersprint fans will have ample opportunity to be with James throughout the Thundersprint weekend "It will be great to just relax on a motorcycle and ride for fun. I am incredibly lucky to have a career in motorcycle racing, and I love racing in MotoGP with Tech 3 Yamaha, but it will be nice to get on to two wheels and not have to worry about what everyone else around me is doing - and who is putting in faster times!" We're delighted with the thought of having "JT" at the Thundersprint. Over the years, we have been very fortunate to have some of the very finest motorcycle racers in the world take part in the Thundersprint but to have one of the current superstars of racing with us will be brilliant. As double World Champion, James knows all about big crowds but we expect even him to be surprised how many Thundersprint fans will pack into Northwich town centre to cheer him on. JT is looking forward to the Thundersprint so that he
can have a play on a bike rather than battling it out in MotoGP
James will be everywhere at the Thundersprint, from the paddock to the track, and he's also riding in the cavalcade, so there will be lots of opportunities to meet him personally. The important thing for us is that James has a good time during the whole Thundersprint weekend. We hear that as well as being handsome, a brilliant keyboard player and a singer JT can ride a motorcycle quite well too!
Join in with JT's party on Saturday 9th. May at
Northwich Memorial Hall
The Memorial Hall has a rigid 750 person capacity so you need to book soon to be sure of a place. The Memorial Hall is very easy to find, being right in the centre of the town, opposite the “Seafarer” Restaurant. For those of you with GPS, the location is: Northwich Memorial Hall, Chester Way, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 5QJ. We also hope to persuade JT to make an early appearance and join us at the Thundersprint Bike Show - but this has yet to be confirmed. Here is JT's schedule for the Thundersprint weekend. It is very important to remember that during the Thundersprint, on Sunday 10 May, JT will be fully accessible - except of course, when he is on the race track. There are no VIP or "Keep Out" areas. Every part of the Thundersprint - except the race area - is fully open to the public throughout the whole day Saturday 9 May: Afternoon: Hopefully, JT at the Thundersprint Bike Show, next to Northwich Memorial Hall, Chester Way, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 5QJ. 7.30pm: JT and "Crash" playing live at the Memorial Hall. Tickets from Memorial Hall Booking office - 01606 814640. Sunday 10 May: 6.15am (Yes, really!): Technical Control in the Thundersprint paddock. This is located opposite the Matalan store - a two minute walk from the centre of Northwich. James will be walking the track, signing on and completing all the other administrative jobs necessary before he takes part in the Thundersprint. 8.20: Photo call for JT on the start line of the Thundersprint. 8.30: Practice. Grandstand seating is free of charge as is parking and admission to the Thundersprint. But things do get very busy so come early for the best viewing spots. 11.30: Gathering for the Cavalcade. James will be leading the Cavalcade of over 200 race and road bikes round three laps of the streets of Northwich. There are tremendous photo opportunities at the start of the Cavalcade and also on the streets of the route. The Cavalcade travels at 30mph so you don't have to be a Grand Prix photographer to get some really good shots of James. 12.20: The Cavalcade returns 1.20: Spitfire display. The only part of the Thundersprint JT is not involved in. Unless you know something we don't, JT will not be flying the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire. Well, probably he won't! 1.30: James will be having a play on the race track along with six times World Champion, Jim Redman, European Champion Sammy Miller, "Top Gear's" James May and 100 other top riders and fabulous bikes. ...and JT will be around for the rest of the afternoon. Worth coming to the Thundersprint to see? We think so! |
