Thundersprint Camping

This year, camping will take place at Witton Albion Football Club, which is about a mile from the Thundersprint track and Northwich Town Centre. It is a comfortable half hour walk from the town centre and the James Toseland concert on Saturday evening, 9 May.

Witton Albion Football Club has a proud history of welcoming visitors

In response to your requests from last year, camping will open on Friday 8 May from 12 midday to 9pm. The site will re-open at 9am on Saturday 9 May and remain open until 9pm. It will finally close at 10am on Monday 11 May. This is so that you can make a full weekend of the Thundersprint.

Witton Albion has an excellent social club

As well as cooked breakfasts served on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings, there there will be refreshments - both solid and liquid! - on sale all day and in the evening there will be entertainment in the social club. In all, what we hope will be a very pleasant start to the Thundersprint for you.

If you would like an evening meal, these are available at very reasonable prices and you can see the booking form below for full details. Because of the number of campers we are expecting please confirm when booking whether you would like a meal on any of the evenings. Breakfast, and evening meals, will be served in the social club which is heated and comfortable.

The club's social area is very pleasant and there will be free entertainment during Saturday evening.

There are excellent facilities at the club. We have listened to the comments of female customers and this year there is an equal number of male and female showers. There are also ample toilets both male and female.

During the night, there are toilet facilities in the ground which are immediately adjacent to the campsite and these will be open throughout the night when the main clubhouse is closed.

As with last year there will be two camping areas. These will be for general camping and a separate area for those of you with young families or who want to be in a quiet area. The third area will be reserved for those of you with pets.

The quiet area will have an 8pm curfew on all music, ball games and every other activity likely to cause a disturbance. It's aimed primarily at families with little ones who need to be in bed, settled and relaxed but maybe it's a good place for racers who need an early bed for the following morning's dawn start. Please respect this area. There is hard standing for caravans and motorhomes. We are going to treat this as a quiet area with an 8pm curfew. Pets are welcome and the club is happy for the animal to stay in your caravan or motorhome. There is an additional area for those of you who are camping but are bringing your pet in your car - or, I suppose, on the bike with you!In both cases, there is a pet exercise area which you must use and clean up. Your dog must be kept on a lead at all times. You might love dogs - we do - but others don't want a passionate kiss from an eight stone, adolescent Doberman - even a very friendly one. Clearly, you must clean up after your animal and keep the whole area hygienic.

ALL PETS MUST BE ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES. THIS PARTICULARLY APPLIES TO DOGS.

Having a pet friendly area has taken a lot of organisation and goodwill on the part of Witton Albion FC so please make the system work.

If you do not keep your pet in the designated area, or allow it to be a nuisance in any way, the Club may well instruct you to leave the site. Please do not let this happen.

There is a total and absolute ban on fires, barbecues and fireworks.

Camping Prices: The price for camping is £20.00 per tent, vehicle, motorhome or whatever for Saturday evening and £30.00 for the whole weekend. The weekend pass will provide up to three nights' stay: Friday 8 May, Saturday 9 May and Sunday 10 May. The one night stay is for Saturday 10 May only. A two night stay will be the same price as a weekend pass. If ten people sleep in one tent it will still be £20.00 for one night. For a family of four sleeping in one caravan, the total cost will be £20.00 for Saturday or £30.00 to stay the whole weekend. The cost for a caravan or motorhome is still £30.00 for the weekend, or £20.00 for Saturday evening - even if it is a big one! The charges listed are for a tent, giant motorhome or for sleeping on the ground in a bin liner next to your bike. The charge is per unit, not per person.

The charges refer only to domestic camping units, not commercial tents designed to house many occupants - for example club tents - which must be pre-booked by arrangement.
