This year, camping will take place at Winnington Park Rugby Club, which is about 2 miles from the Thundersprint track and Northwich Town Centre. We used this venue last year and it was very popular with a lot of praise for the quality of facilities and site.
Winnington Park Rugby Club has first class facilities

Camping will open on Friday 9 May from 5pm to 9pm. The site will re-open at 9am on Saturday 10 May and remain open until 9pm. It will finally close at 10am on Sunday 11 May. This is so that you can make a full weekend of the Thundersprint. For those of you who wish to stay on Sunday evening, we can direct you to nearby local campsites which can accommodate you - or the Floatel has an excellent offer for Sunday evening dinner bed and breakfast.
During Saturday 10 May, there will be a relaxed Custom and Classic show. There will be no prizes for the best bike - or anything else for that matter - but all pre-registered entrants will receive a unique souvenir. For further information, and an entry form, click on Saturday Show.
There will be refreshments - both solid and liquid! - on sale all day and in the evening there will be entertainment in the clubhouse. In all, what we hope will be a very pleasant start to the Thundersprint for you.
Following the success of last year's separate areas for different needs, there will be three designated camping areas for 2008.
These will be for general camping: for those of you with young families or who want to be in a quiet area, and those with pets.
Winnington Park is huge with ample space for the three camping areas.

The general camping area is self-explanatory and there is hardstanding for motorhomes and caravans.
The quiet area will have an 8pm curfew on all music, ball games and every other activity likely to cause a disturbance. It’s aimed primarily at families with little ones who need to be in bed, settled and relaxed but maybe it’s a good place for racers who need an early bed for the following morning’s dawn start. Please respect this area.
The final area is for those of you with pets. We want to make you welcome but you must not take your pet outside the designated area in the evening. You might love dogs - we do - but others don’t want a passionate kiss from an eight stone adolescent Doberman - even a very friendly one.
Clearly, you must clean up after your animal to keep the whole area hygienic.
ALL PETS MUST BE ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES. THIS PARTICULARLY APPLIES TO DOGS.
Having a pet friendly area has taken a lot of organisation and goodwill on the part of the Rugby Club so please make the system work.
If you allow your pet to be a nuisance in any way, or you do not keep it in the designated area, our Security staff will instruct you to leave the site. Please do not let this happen.
There is a total and absolute ban on fires, barbecues and fireworks.
Camping Prices:
The price for camping is £15.00 per tent, vehicle, motorhome or whatever for Saturday evening and £20.00 for the whole weekend. The weekend pass will provide up to two nights’ stay: Friday 9 May and Saturday 10 May.
The one night stay is for Saturday 10 May only.
A two night stay will be the same price as a weekend pass.
If ten people sleep in one tent it will still be £15.00 for one night. For a family of four sleeping in one caravan, the total cost will be £15.00 for Saturday or £20.00 to stay the whole weekend.
There is also hard standing for caravans and motorhomes. The cost for a caravan or motorhome is still £20.00 for the weekend, or £15.00 for Saturday night - even if it is a big one!
The charges listed below are for a tent, giant motorhome or sleeping on the ground in a bin liner next to your bike. The charge is per unit, not per person.
The charges refer only to domestic camping units, not commercial tents designed to house many occupants - for example club tents - which must be pre-booked by arrangement.
There are showers and excellent toilet facilities.
Subject to space, it will be possible to pay on the gate but the costs will then be: £20 for Saturday evening and £25 for two nights per camping unit.
